1 How to Build a Plan

2 Throughout this PowerPoint, there
will be blue text that indicates an action. In order to move through this PowerPoint you will need to click on the blue shapes associated with the action of the blue text. However, some pages do not have actions, in that case you will simply click the blue “NEXT” arrow. Click the “NEXT” button to go to the next slide NEXT

3 On your CIS Page, click on
“My Degree Dashboard.”

4 Dashboard select the “Plans” tab.
In My Degree Dashboard select the “Plans” tab.

5 Now you will see all the plans
you have previously added. To build or edit your plan simply click on your plan name.

6 your plan name, it will look like this. Now you can start building!
Once you have selected your plan name, it will look like this. Now you can start building! NEXT NEXT

7 In order to understand how to
build your plan, you must understand how to read your audit. If you need help on how to read your audit, you can visit the audits page and go to “Read My Audit”. If you already know how to read an audit click “NEXT” and learn how to build your plan. NEXT NEXT

8 about the courses shown on the audit, simply
If you want to know more about the courses shown on the audit, simply click on the course you are interested in and you will be able to see more information.

9 You will see the course name and
a course description. You can also see if the course has any prerequisites, or if it covers any general education or bachelor degree requirements. NEXT

10 Now lets go over some of the cool and helpful things you can use when
building your plan. Click on the icons to learn more. Are you ready to create your plan? Click HERE!

11 This button will show you a full audit
with all the classes you built into your plan. The classes you have planned for will show up with a purple box next to them in the audit. BACK

12 As you delete classes form, or add classes to your plan the audit will NOT automatically keep up with you. If you want the audit to display the information for the plan you are building, you must click on this check mark to refresh it. Then your audit will accurately show you what you have planned for and what you still need. BACK

13 This button allows you to wipe your plan clean
and start from scratch. If you began creating your plan and need to completely start over, this button will help you with that. It deletes everything in your plan without deleting the plan its self. BACK

14 This button allows you to add a new semester to your plan when you click it.

15 First, select the semester you want to add.

16 First, select the semester you want to add.

17 Then select the year you want the semester to be in.

18 Then select the year you want the semester to be in.

19 And select “OK” to add that semester to your plan.

20 Now that semester has been added to your plan!

21 This button allows you to delete classes within
a semester when you click it.

22 You will select the course(s) you
want to delete.

23 Select “Delete” to delete the
selected course(s)

24 Then you will see a pop-up asking if you want to delete the selected course. Click yes.

25 Finally, you will need to click “Submit” to make the deletion final.

26 Now you have successfully deleted a course from your plan!

27 When you click this button, it allows you to add classes to your plan that are not on the audit.

28 Type in the department abbreviation of the course you want to add.

29 Then you will type in the course number.

30 And you will need to select “OK” to add this course to your plan

31 Now you have added a course to your plan!

32 When you click this button it will allow you to delete an entire
semester from your plan.

33 You will see a pop-up asking if you want to delete the semester
You will see a pop-up asking if you want to delete the semester. Click yes.

34 Now the Semester has successfully been deleted!

35 This button will allow you to add a message to your plan when you click it.

36 You will be able to select a message from this list to add to your plan.

37 Once you have selected your message, click “Add Message” to add it to your plan.

38 Now a message has been successfully added to your plan!

39 CONGRATULATIONS!!! Now that you know how to build a plan,
it’s time to build YOUR plan! After you build your plan, you can show it to your advisor to make sure you are on the right track for graduation. FINISH
