Students are creating rhyming words and discriminating between rhyming and non-rhyming words. Students are continuing to build stamina in their reading as well as apply strategies of previewing and predicting the text. SOL 1.4a, 1.9a,d
Writing
Students are continuing to identify different forms of punctuation including a period, question mark, exclamation point, and quotation marks. They are also practicing spelling unknown words phonetically. SOL 1.5c, 1.12c
