Linking Writer’s Help 2.0 to Blackboard Fall 2016

3 What can Writer’s Help 2.0 do for you?
Help you succeed in class. Use Smart Search to get writing help. Improve your writing skills. Become an excellent writer. 3

4 So how do you begin? Go to your institution’s Blackboard site.
Navigate to the Blackboard login screen and log in using your Blackboard username and password. Find your instructor’s course and click on the title to open it. In the left sidebar, navigate to where your instructor has put Writer's Help 2.0 content. If you’re not sure, ask your instructor! Click any assignment that has the red flag logo next to it to start the process of linking Blackboard and Writer's Help 2.0. 4

5 Do you see a Privacy Notice?
You will see the “Privacy Notice and Terms of Use (“Legal Terms”) if this is the first time you have accessed a Writer's Help 2.0 assignment through Blackboard. Review the “Privacy Notice and Terms of Use (“Legal Terms”) and select “I have read the Legal Terms.” Click “I agree to the Legal Terms.” Before proceeding, determine whether you already have a Macmillan account. How will you know if you have an account? We’ll help you! Consider the scenarios on the next slide. 5

6 Could you already have a Macmillan account?
If this is your first time encountering Writer's Help 2.0 or LaunchPad, you do not have a Macmillan account and must create one. Go to slide 7. If you used Writer's Help 2.0 or LaunchPad at a school you’re no longer attending, your account is invalid, and you should create a new one. Go to slide 7. If you recently purchased a shrink-wrapped package or an access card for this course and registered the code on the card, you have an account and should link it to Blackboard. Go to slide 10. If you used Writer's Help 2.0 or LaunchPad in another course during a previous semester, you have an account and should link it to Blackboard. Go to slide 10. 6

8 Create a Macmillan account.
New to Writer's Help 2.0: Create a Macmillan account. Screen 1: Use your Blackboard to create a Macmillan Learning account. When you’re done, click Register. Screen 2: Enter your Blackboard address. You will now see the screen pictured here. Create a Macmillan Learning account. 8

9 Select your access option.
New and returning users: Select your access option. Enter an access code that you purchased inside a package or by itself from the bookstore. Use a credit card or PayPal account to purchase access online. Sign up for 21 days of free trial access, after which you’ll need to purchase from your bookstore or online. Congratulations! When you complete your access option, you’ll be allowed to continue to Writer's Help 2.0, which will take you to the assignment you clicked on in Blackboard to initiate this process. 9

11 Link your Macmillan account.
Returning users: Link your Macmillan account. Screen 1: Click Change to enter the address associated with your Macmillan account. If you don’t remember it, jump to slide 14 to learn how to contact our technical support team. Screen 2: Enter the address associated with your Macmillan account. 11

12 Enter your Macmillan password.
Returning users: Enter your Macmillan password. The system should recognize the address associated with your Macmillan account. Next, enter the password associated with your Macmillan account. If you don’t remember your password, use the click here option to have it sent to you. 12

13 Select your access option or proceed to Writer's Help 2.0.
Returning users: Select your access option or proceed to Writer's Help 2.0. If you see a screen prompting you to enter an access code, purchase online, or sign up for temporary access, see slide 9 for more information. If you’ve already registered an access code, purchased online, or signed up for temporary access, you’ll be invited to Continue to Product or Continue to Site. After continuing, you’ll be taken to the Writer's Help 2.0 assignment you clicked on in Blackboard to initiate this process. 13

If you have issues with your account, course content, or tools, contact Macmillan Learning Technical Support. Be sure to tell the agent that you’re accessing Writer's Help 2.0 through Blackboard.
