17 What are your suggestions?
Children eat veg at home but they don’t want to bring them at school because they want to eat quickly to go out and play. Have specific times for lunch and specific times for play. Let the children eat their fruit and veg during play time so they can eat their sandwich or hot meal at lunch. School lunch children to be provided by a fruit e.g. dry fruit (raisins, apricot NO added sugar or syrup) or veg snack during morning playtime. Inconsistency bringing sugary snacks for after school clubs. Yoghurts: only with fruit or flavoured or drink – no chocolate bits, jams or muller ,or cereal Some school lunch children are stressed because they feel forced to eat their food. Children to use the water bottle they bring at school-no need to bring additional bottle. Water fountain in Reception/Nursery/IU area. Dinner ladies to be more vigilant-some children lick spoons and put them back to the cutlery tray. Treat Friday: children to bring only 1 treat, either sugary drink, chocolate bar, crisps. Morning snacks to be optional.
