Welcome Agenda Year 5 sleepover briefing.
Year 6 residential presentation. Including: Introduction to the trip, basic information and plan(s), costs and payments, questions.

Year 5 sleepover Friday 9th June (7pm ish) – Saturday 10th June (9.30am ish). Sleeping in the classrooms (boys and girls in separate rooms). The school will be secure and safe and there will be appropriate supervision. Bring supplies – sleeping bag, something to sleep on, PJs, sweets, toothbrush…A kit list will be issued with the permission letter.

Year 5 sleepover There will be a cost (up to £10) to cover evening supplies, breakfast and a group photo (memories are so important). Permission letter sent out closer to the time. Questions?

4 night stay away from home Develop independence and self-reliance. Develop a sense of responsibility. Experience of staying in a different environment Provide Outdoor Adventurous Activities linked to PE. Child-led activities. Developing Learning Powers Resourcefulness, resilience, reciprocity, reflectiveness. Living with peers over extended periods. Team work. Awareness of the needs of others. Cooperation and collaboration. Celebration of their time at school together.

Timings Travelling by coach.
Drop off at school between , ready to leave at 11am. Back at school by home time on the Friday (TBC).

Accommodation Youth hostel – two separate ‘houses’ (girls/boys).
En-suite bathrooms, communal bathrooms. Teacher rooms within the houses. Secure – door codes for ALL buildings.

Sleeping arrangements
Children organized into single sex rooms of approx 4 – 6. Children will have an opportunity to express with whom they would like to share a room. Langshott staff will allocate rooms with consideration of attitude, friendships and behaviour. We want all children to be successful. They will be in mixed groups during the day for their activities. Children will be expected to make their beds and keep their rooms tidy!

Activities Range of activities provided by qualified and experienced instructors. Other child led activities.

Food All needs catered for. Cooked/cold breakfast.
Packed lunch (sandwich choice given). Cooked dinner. The children can buy ice creams and there will be a limited tuck shop.

Things to pack Kit list will be provided.
Clothes suitable for outdoors/being active. Name on everything. Potential water fight (there is a drying room!)

Cost £300. Plus some spending money. Possible residential t-shirt.

Meeting individual needs
Support with medication etc given. Timetable given out so that the children know the routine (also shared with families – pack). Fire briefing given.

What happens next Consent/deposit letter going home today/tomorrow.
Deposit of £50 due by 3rd March 2017. March 2017-February 2018 balance to be paid. Spring term 2018 – kit list, medical form and final pack issued to parents.

Questions Staffing – not known.
Alternative activities for those who stay behind – depends on how many. Potential to join us on the trip for a day.
