2 THEY’RE ALREADY HERE…

3 WHERE DO YOU POST? VIEWED AS INFORMATIONAL / PROFESSIONAL SPACES
TWITTER LINKEDIN VIEWED AS PERSONAL / “FUN” SPACES FACEBOOK SNAPCHAT SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN… INSTAGRAM PINTEREST WHERE DO YOU POST? IN A 2014 SURVEY OF OUR SOCIAL MEDIA FOLLOWERS, ONLY TWITTER AND LINKEDIN WERE SEEN AS PLACES WHERE “PROFESSIONAL” INFORMATION WAS WELCOME. FACEBOOK AND SNAPCHAT ARE SEEN AS RECREATIONAL, PERSONAL SPACES WHERE OUR PRESENCE IS LESS WELCOME – THOUGH “FUN POSTS” AND EVENT REMINDERS ARE OKAY. INSTAGRAM AND PINTEREST ARE MAINLY VISUAL – SO CONTENT IS DEPENDENT ON A STRIKING IMAGE.

7 Podcast

8 The bare minimum! An iPad with Garage Band (Now comes free with any iOS hardware purchase) A compatible high quality microphone like Blue Yeti Pro (requires adapter for iPad) or the Blue Spark (iPad ready) We started out on an iPad but now record on a Mac Pro (still using the same mics and the desktop version of Garage Band) Other options available for Windows, but the Garage Band interface is very straightforward. Our workstudy / producer taught herself advanced GB skills so we could broadcast in separate stereo channels – but it’s not a requirement!
