17 SELF CONCEPT Refers to an individual’s self beliefs and self evaluation. It is “Who am I?” and “how do I feel about myself”.

DESCRIPTION Complexity How many distinct and important roles or identities does a person think about to define him or herself? Consistency How compatible are the person’s self concept identities with one another and with the persons personality, values and other attributes? Clarity To what extent does the person define him or herself clearly confidently, and consistently overtime?

21 SELF ENHANCEMENT A persons inherent motivation to have a positive self concept and to have others perceive him/her favorably such as, being competent, attractive, lucky, ethical and important

Self esteem- the extent to which people like, respect, and are satisfied with themselves.
