3 Carpel or Pistil The carpel or pistil is the female part of a plant.
It is made up of four parts: Stigma Style Ovary Ovule The ovary are where the seeds end up.

4 Stamen The stamen is the male part of the flower.
The stamen consists of two parts: Anther Filament Pollen grains are produced on the anther. Insects brush the anther and have pollen deposited on them.

5 Receptacle This is what attaches the stalk to the flower.
Sometimes, it becomes the fruit.

6 Pedicel This is the flowers stem.
Taller flowers are more likely to attract the bees attention.

7 Sepal This forms part of the bud. It protects the flower.
All the sepals form the Calyx

8 Corolla Also known as the crown of petals.
It is brightly coloured to attract the interest of passing insects. Ultra violet lines often guide bees further inside the petal.
