11 local authority areas 70+ schools Targeted transitions programme for young people who have a learning disability and/or ASN Working with S4-S6 Transitions Coordinator works across 4 schools in a LA area

Working with young people to identify and remove barriers to a successful transition Comprehensive support service Long term – 3 years+ Journey through world of work Support to gain employment and aftercare service to sustain Opportunity to gain SQA Employability Qualification Introduction to Workplace Skills

Stepping Up 1310 beneficiaries
98% of those engaged go onto a positive destination Higher than the national average for current school leavers Significantly higher than national average for ASN Leavers 245 have achieved paid employment 187 training programmes including Modern Apprenticeships 495 FE Places

Successes Highlighted as example of best practice in ‘Developing Scotland’s Young Workforce’ by Sir Ian Wood Encompasses recommendation 33 - Young people with disabilities should have focused and tailored career advice and work experience opportunities.to help them to develop and realise their potential. Education Scotland highlighted Stepping Up as effective intervention for young people with ASN Particularly able to engage young people in the labour market

Successes Will feature on Education Scotland’s National Improvement Hub Example of implementing DYW Agenda for disadvantaged groups 3 council areas now self fund the Project Partnerships Schools – key to its success Employers 3rd Sector Organisations
