7 When washing fabrics think…
Keywords Heat to remove stains – but wool felts, viscose creases and synthetic fibres change shape. Some fabrics can stand up to vigorous spinning but others such as wool can felt. Delicate fabrics can stain if they’re left in water. Delicate fabrics need mild soap. Temperature Action Time Washing Powders

8 When drying fabrics think…
Most things can be hung on a washing line but some knitted garments can stretch. Knitted garments should be laid out damp and reshaped so they maintain their shape. Most can be dried in a tumble drier but wool, acrylic and some polyesters can shrink at high temperatures. Keywords Shrink Reshaped
