3. SUSCOD – project DNA
Aims
SUSCOD aims to promote integrated coastal zone management (ICZM) among the partners.
Central in SUSCOD is the development of a practical tool: the ICZM-assistant and its introduction to potential users and its demonstrated value at test locations.

5. OBJECTIVES
Exchanging and integrating knowledge, expertise and experiences on ICZM implementation on a practical level in order to improve the partner’s own performance.
Reviewing the present status of ICZM implementation in the partner regions (in an EU context), including the application of ICZM tools and practical techniques as being applied in the light of challenges imposed by climate change.
Jointly developing a practical and innovative web-based ICZM – tool (ICZM-assistant) for coastalpractitioners (project development and implementation) with stakeholder participation.
Applying and testing of ICZM principles integrated with the testing and validating of the ICZMassistant in pilot projects in a variety of coastal locations in partner regions (answer to climate change in spatial development).

7. REGIONAL CASES Lolland municipality
This case study will focus on sea level rise, storms and fresh water management along the coast line of southern Lolland. These factors will be evaluated in relation to their impact on existing and forthcoming infrastructural developments. A special emphasis will be given to the coming Fehmarn Belt bridge to Germany. The thematic focus of the case will be that of climate change induced sea-level rise, coastal zone management and infrastructural developments.
Odsherred municipality
This case study will focus on the sea level rise along the coast line of western Odsherred and its impact on the tourism industry in the area. Different scenarios with and without coastal zone protection will be developed along side with socio-economic evaluations of the different scenarios. The thematic focus of the case study will be that of climate change induced sea level rise, coastal zone management and tourism.
Slagelse municipality
This case study will focus on sea level rise a long the coastline of north western Slagelse and its impact on coast town and inner-city development. Different risk analysis scenarios, plans for evacuation and warning systems will be developed and evaluated. The thematic focus of the case study will be that of climate change induced sea level rise, coastal zone management and inner-city development
