5/04/2016

2 Overall Assessment Last Year This Year Academic Trained Needs Practice
Military N/A Moral-Ethical Physical Fitness I think the moral-ethical and physical fitness may need to be changed to Needs Practice

3 Academic Assessment Needs Practice Strengths Weaknesses
Needs comments for this slide- do not copy comments from last year

5 Academic Pillar Strategy
Utilize The Academic officer Immediate support for 4th class as soon as classes start Designating company advisors for each major Continue to provide a productive study environment during ESP Division inspectors responsible 5. Develop company study groups Come up with different comments from the ones that were used last year

6 Military Assessment Trained Strengths Weaknesses
Professionalism with 4th class; Regimental CO Cup Outstanding SMI performance Parade strength major improvement from last year. Weaknesses Military discipline has room for improvement Accountability needs improvement MRI’s need improvement Use different comments from last year- we did NOT win the Regimental Co Cup this year- we did not have a major improvement from last year (15th to 11th is NOT a major improvement)

7 Military Assessment - 1 7 2 19 3 15th 11th 46

8 Military Pillar Strategy
Keep Squad Leaders accountable If members in their squad are repeat offenders, the SGT get the punishment and if the SGT does not do anything PS gets punished. Reinforce the meaning of Military Bearing Utilize Alternative punishments for minor offences Provide Incentives for Outstanding behavior and military conduct Make sure you have examples ready for incentives

9 Moral-Ethical Assessment
Trained Strengths Demonstrate understanding of honor code Cadets exhibit high levels of trust in each other No alcohol violations/incidents Weaknesses Selfish tendencies, (e.g. skipping guard, special leave without justification) I would change this to Needs Practice- we have consistently had at least 1 cadet found in violation for the last 3 years; We also had at least 2 alcohol violations

10 Moral-Ethical Assessment
Number of honor accusations this year Number of honor accusations last year Number of “in violation” honor findings last year Number of “in violation” honor findings this year 1C 1 2C 3C 4C Total

11 Moral-Ethical Pillar Strategy
1. Providing guest speaker at company luncheon to discuss his/her first hand experience with the honor code. 2. Having honor workshops for NJP 3. Start a company service project 4. Zero tolerance for Sexual Assault/ Sexual Harassment environment

12 Physical Effectiveness Assessment
Needs Practice Strengths High intramural participation Best Morning PT in the Corps Cadets exhibit healthy lifestyles Weaknesses Lack of motivation at end of year Getting people up in the morning Is it Trained or Needs Practice? Your Overall Assessment says Trained, while this slide says Needs Practice. I would agree with the Needs Practice. We haven’t improved that much since last year- other than Regimental PT participation

13 Physical Effectiveness Assessment
CPFT avg last year CPFT avg this year Number of CPFT failures last year Number of CPFT failures this year Number of H & W failures last year Number of H & W failures this year 1C 218 226.75 1 - 2 2C 228 245.13 2* 3C 246 246.18 4C 262 245 Total 239(15th) 241.75 5 4 *2 PT failures were for medical reasons.

14 Physical Effectiveness Pillar Strategy
100% participation in intramurals Company Team for physical events outside the institution Creating a positive physical fitness environment in the company (way of life) Setting up Fitness mentors for everyone in the company Athletic Officer to develop company workout plan I wouldn’t not put 100% participation in intramurals because that is an unrealistic goal…maybe strive for no less than 80% participation or something like that. What do you mean by physical events outside the institution- have examples

15 Company Commander/TAC Comments
Begin year with clear expectation for leaders -Reality of performance-based promotion/demotion -Class privilege expectations -Room standards and uniform standards Better accountability starting in August Strict “no-fraternization” policy Establishing and making more knowledge of a Four Class System These are your comments…I agree with these, however they are the same comments from last year. You may want to tweak them some.
