8 Level Imagine a straight line that is perfectly horizontal. Using a door as an example, if it is not level it will tend to rub on the jamb.

9 Plumb Imagine a straight line that is perfectly vertical. If our door is not plumb it may sag open in the corner, or have unwanted opening or closing.

10 Square Square refers to a 90 degree corner. For this to happen our workpiece must be both level and plumb at the same time on a side.

11 True True represents being square on both the level and plumb axis at the same time on all sides of the workpiece.
