There are two kinds of verbs

I wanted the ipod The past simple negative is S + didn’t + verb 1 She didn’t remember the ipod The past simple questions form is did + S + verb 1 Did you pack my digital camera? Yes, I did No, I didn’t

There are 3 different ways to pronounce “-ed” /d/ /t/ /id/
/d/ /t/ /id/ traveled arrived cleaned asked liked watched helped smoked invited decided Where will you put : enjoyed packed remembered stayed wanted?

Pronunciation If a verb ends with a voiced consonant or vowel sound, then –ed is pronounced /d/ Voiced sound : – l – v – n – m – r – b – v – g – w – y – z – and vowel sounds (diphthongs) e.g. opened, played, carried, answered If a verb ends with an unvoiced consonant, then –ed is pronounced /t/ Unvoiced sound :– p – k – s – ch – sh – f – x – h – e.g. watched, cooked, washed, fixed Only when a verb ends with t or d, then –ed is pronounced /Id/ e.g. wanted, needed, visited
