3. What is pollution?
Pollution is the introduction of harmful materials in the environment
There are 4 types of pollution:
Air
Water
Soil
Light

4. Air Pollution
Air pollution is the introduction of chemicals or biological materials that cause harm and discomfort for humans and also these materials cause damage to the natural environment.

5. Causes of air pollution
Industries
Automobiles and Domestic fuels
High proportion of gases, such as sulfur dioxide and carbon monoxide

6. How we can avoid air pollution?
Use natural gases
Use less amount of fuel in vehicles or just use hybrid cars
Avoid using electric stoves

7. Water pollution
The addition of harmful chemicals to natural water is called water pollution.
This picture is taken near the river Mures in Pecica by Pintiliciuc Claudia. We can see how polluted this river is by observing the rubbishes in it.

8. Causes of water pollution
Industrial wastes discharged in the rivers
Sewage and waste water
Burning of fossil fuels
Chemical fertilizers and pesticides

9. How can we avoid water pollution?
Rivers shouldn’t be used for bathing
Rivers mustn’t been contaminated
Never throw rubbish in the river
Don’t throw chemicals, oils and medicines down the sink.

10. Land pollution
The destruction of the earth’s surface and soil as a result of human activities, is called land pollution.

12. How can we avoid land pollution?
Make people aware about the concept of Reduce, Recycle and Reuse
Reduce the use of pesticides and fertilizers in agricultural activities
Buy biodegradable products
Trees should be planted

13. Light pollution
Light pollution is excessive, misdirected, or obtrusive artificial light.
The light pollution in Peregu Mic is very high , we can see it on the picture. This capture was took by Nagy Bianka

Irresponsible use
Over-illumination
Excessive use of artificial light

Install LED bulbs
Aim your outdoor lights downward
Install motion detector lights
