11 4 Week Review Period Students have until Friday September 29th to make the final decisions on their subjects – after this date it is too late to change! Teachers will also use this review period to decide on a student’s suitability for the course. Attitude as well as academic capabilities will be considered. You will be kept informed.

12 Target Setting and Monitoring:
All students will be given a target to achieve for each subject for the end of the course. (ALPS – a national data programme based on prior attainment) You will receive several grade drops throughout the year. Progress towards these targets will be monitored and students that do not meet the levels will be placed on review and parents will be advised.

18 UCAS process: Opens June 2018 (all are encouraged to make an application) Oxbridge, Medicine, Dentistry and veterinary application deadline 15th October 2018.

2 days off-timetable in the summer term will be given to write personal statements. Guest Speakers over the 2 days. Students are encouraged to visit University Open Days/Summer Schools.

21 Roles and Responsibilities Available in Sixth Form:
Head Boy and Head Girl Junior Leadership Team – variety of roles All look excellent on applications.

22 Fun Stuff: Throughout the year there will be opportunities to be involved in many charity events. The Junior Leadership Team are planning social gatherings giving the opportunity to ‘get involved.’ All ideas welcome!

23 How can you support? Still nag about homework & deadlines.
Help get them up in the mornings! Check dress code before they leave the house. Give them a quiet place to study at home. Take away electronic devices if easily distracted. Encourage them to stay after school and use the study rooms. Contact us.
