1. Does the light affect the photosynthesis?

2. As a result of the photosynthesis process a plant produces food.

3. We have carried out the experiment
On two plates filled with moist cotton wool we put wheat seeds.
Throughout the duration of the experiment we water the seeds so the cotton wool was wet all the time.

4. When the wheat seedlings reached a height of about 6 cm, we placed one of a young plant in the light-tight ( dark) bag.
After two weeks we compared both plates with the plants.

5. We observed that:
Wheat seedlings having full access to the light are green, well developed.
Seedlings, which were placed in the bag are yellowish and weaker.

6. Conclusion:
A plant needs light for its proper development which is used by leaves to produce food through the process of photosynthesis.
