7 Overview of the First Year
You will have six modules in the first year : three in Trimester 1 (September – December) and three in Trimester 2 (January - April). 13 Attendance You are expected to attend all classes
Make sure you sign the register or swipe in! Inform school office of any classes that you cannot attend If you do not attend you will receive s/letters asking you to make contact. It is possible that you will be withdrawn from modules for non attendance/ non-engagement. Keep in Touch! Conduct in classes

16 Extenuating Circumstances
See Programme handbook Extenuating circumstances are defined as adverse circumstances which have led to non-attendance at, non-submission of or impaired performance in one or more assessments. If accepted, you are given a further attempt at the relevant piece of assessment (for example a Resubmit Coursework 2 (RC2) will become a RC1). Forms and further information are available at the web page in the Programme handbook.

18 Personal Development Planning
See Programme Handbook for details Develop key skills and attributes in addition to module specific knowledge. PDP allows you to manage and monitor the development of these key skills. Personal Tutor meetings. Also the Library, Effective learning tutors, and online help tools. Build an e-portfolio via the online learning environment:

20 PASS Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS).
These sessions are run by Psychology students from 3rd and 4th year and are designed to help you work on content from your first year modules. Each week the PASS leader from 3rd and 4th year will have activity plans for the sessions, but can also centre around an activity that you particularly want to focus on.
