An Annual Course:
World Perspectives in Literature
Have the same teacher for the entire year and a smoother transition between semesters.
Explore ideas of justice, the search for meaning, imagination and more through various genres of fiction and non-fiction.
Semester Courses – Take two of the following:
Creating and Reflecting
Develop your curiosity and ability to reflect. Like art? This class with work on your reading, writing, and thinking skills and will tap into your creative side.
The Visual Word
Study literature through the interpretation of filmmaking and films. This is not just a watching the movie class! You will be expected to analyze, discuss, and write about cinematography and the devices used in film.
The Literary Tradition of Comedy
Explore humor in plays, essays, novels, and poetry in this class.

16. English IV AP Options
English IV AP: Rhetoric of {Language and Composition
The capstone class for an accel student
Prepares you for the AP Language and Composition exam
Thematically taught and focuses on the use of rhetoric in fiction and non-fiction, specifically the power of argument
English IV AP: Literature and Composition
The capstone class for an honors student
Prepares you for the AP Literature and Composition exam
Focuses on literary analysis and the close reading of a variety of fiction and non-fiction genres

Students are eligible for Athletic Study Hall during their high school sport season. Students go back to PE when their season is over.
In order to be eligible for Athletic Study Hall you must sign up for regular gym,

If completed outside of LTHS submit letter of completion or Drivers License to the secretary in the counseling office
