Prevention – An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Physical examination – Identifies any preexisting or current health issues. Develop training and conditioning programs Ensure a safe playing environment – Check fields for any hazards and report any issues. Selecting, fitting and maintaining equipment. Counseling and guidance

Ultimate decision maker in the care of athlete Athletic trainer works under direct supervision of physician Physician assumes a number of roles Serves to advise and supervise ATC Physician and ATC must be able to work together Have similar philosophical opinions regarding injury management Helps to minimize discrepancies and inconsistencies

Physical Therapist New requirements: obtain a doctorate degree, instead of a Master’s. DPT Which means, 2 more years of schooling. Salary is still $80,000

Physical therapists (PTs) play essential roles in today’s health care environment and are recognized as vital providers of rehabilitation and habilitation services, and prevention and risk-reduction services. Now DPT-Doctorate degree ( 8years of school beyond high school). Previously MPT-Master’s (6 years) Same salary~$80,000
