Support Program Management Administers ESF Funding Manages EATC – Educational Assistive Technology Centre (Part of the overall Shannon Consortium and HEA Compact) Manages CAO Supplementary Admissions System Process (DARE Scheme) Advocacy Directs Disability Resource Area/Assistive Technology Service Students in wheelchairs, blind, partially sighted, dyslexia/dyspraxia/Asperger’s syndrome, specific learning disabilities, serious physical and medical conditions Promotes & supports improved and equal access for students with disabilities Provides transport services

Student Health Centre – Provides comprehensive primary care for all students (not a GP service). Includes nurse clinic, physiotherapy, psychiatry & gp clinics Staff: 3 Medical Practitioners 1 Nurse 1 Psychiatrist 1 Physiotherapist 1 Administrator Sports Medicine Consultations Dedicated Contraceptive Clinics Student Sexual Health Clinics, including: STI Screening & Follow-up Support Role in other University Business: I-Grade Facilitation Policy and Health Promotion Initiatives Unexpected Outbreaks (e.g., mumps)

Chaplaincy – 2 Chaplains
Fosters student & staff relationships through ecumenical services Provides and Coordinates Religious Services Manages the Teach Failte Drop-in Centre Student-oriented Liturgies Administers the University’s Hardship Fund Supports Student Clubs and Societies Coordinates all necessary arrangements in the event of the loss of a student Manages/Organises Activities that focus on the Contemplative Centre Confidential one-to-One meetings with students in times of crisis (bereavement, financial difficulty, etc..)

Arts Office: Fosters diverse forms of creative expression for students and staff Film Festival & UL Drama Society Productions Dance Concerts Comedy Lectures Outreach Activities, Alternative Events, and Workshops Manages & Organises a Programme of Annual Activities: Develops & Maintains the “Living Art Wall” in Eden Restaurant Collaborates Closely with Student Clubs, Societies, and Student Union Chairs the UL Arts & Sports Support Fund Committee and Liaises with Bank Enablement Fund

Community Liaison Office
Delivering on UL’s and HE Civic Engagement aims and objectives Represents ULs on community/ voluntary boards across the city. Fosters University/ Student/ Community/ Pathways & Partnerships Supports students developing volunteer/ Social Entrepreneur initiatives Supports UL and external community to identify/develop/create student focused volunteer initiatives Collaborates with HE colleagues across the sector on civic engagement strategies, practices/policies. Coordinates UL’s President’s Volunteer Award (PVA) Programme & Annual Ceremony

First Year Experience and Retention Officer
Delivering on UL’s Strategic Plan to ‘engage, retain and progress students through their chosen programme and address student needs’. Use new technologies for student communication Manage Orientation Data analysis on student engagement Develop new strategies for effective first year integration to UL Develop new policies and strategies on improving student retention Primary contact point for new entrants for advice, direction transfer – defer information
