3 Freeing Ourselves From Old Programming
We learn things that limit our thinking Cultures and history teach us things that are not always good We need to get out of negative learnings that come to us from generations

Our inner environment is important It has influence on our external behavior We need to know how to make our inner environment better Focus on positive things is important Negative things make our inner environment worse

6 Replacing Diagnosis With NVC
When NVC is used, the therapist asks the following questions from himself: What is this person feeling? What is she or he needing? How am I feeling in response to this person, and what needs of mine are behind my feelings? What action or decision would I request this person to take in the belief that it would enable them to live more happily?”

7 Chapter 13: Expressing Appreciation In Nonviolent Communication
This chapter focuses on appreciating others nonviolently Different techniques are used to appreciate Important topics from the chapter are discussed in the coming slides

8 The Intention Behind The Appreciation
What is the intention behind appreciating others? What doe it mean when we appreciate by saying: “You did a good job on that report.” “You are a very sensitive person.” “It was kind of you to offer me a ride home last evening.” In businesses we need to appreciate others for their good job

9 The Three Components Of Appreciation
NVC clearly distinguishes three components in the expression of appreciation: 1. the actions that have contributed to our well-being; (what appreciation action made us feel good) 2. the particular needs of ours that have been fulfilled; (what need did appreciation fulfil, is it emotional need or physical) 3. the pleasureful feelings engendered by the fulfillment of those needs.

10 Receiving Appreciation
How do we feel when we receive Appreciation? Does it make us happy? Does it make us worried? We should receive appreciation with good heart

11 The Hunger For Appreciation
We want to be appreciated It is not a bad feeling But it should not be demanded when we do not deserve to be appreciated Work good and you will be appreciated

12 Overcoming The Reluctance To Express Appreciation
As we need to be appreciated, others also need to be appreciated We should provide due appreciation to others We should not stop from appreciating others Appreciation creates a good working environment
