OpenRange
10
OpenRange Concept Oklahoma has a rich heritage in ranching. OpenRange was our first contemporary ranching practice and allowed livestock to roam and graze freely – only confined by natural barriers. It gave rise to spring and fall roundups, when cowboys from various ranches combined efforts to gather the animals, sort them by brand and herd them back to their respective territories. The practice of open range ranching avoided artificial obstacles, encouraged collaboration and produced strong, resilient animals capable of surviving the harshest of environments. This practice epitomizes the goals for shared information technology services in the State of Oklahoma. The program is intended to facilitate communication with and educate state agencies and affiliates of availability of shared information technology contracts and services.
