A network of experts for MIT faculty, staff, postdocs & families One call puts you in touch with a network of experts who provide: Free and Confidential Services Short-term Emotional and Mental Health Services Work-Life Consultations, Research, and Referrals Consultations about How to Help Someone in Distress Support Before, During and After a Disruptive Event MIT Faculty, Staff, Postdocs and family members can consult 24/7 by phone or in-person with Masters or Ph.D. level counselors. WORK-LIFE CENTER BENEFITS Caring for Aging Parents and Other Adults Experienced Senior Care Advisors provide: Senior care planning and information In-depth individual and family consultations Customized, comprehensive action plans Facilitated family meetings Vetted providers across the U.S., including housing, adult day programs, at-home care, and Alzheimer’s/dementia care Senior Care Planning is available for faculty, staff and postdocs. It is available by phone, in-person and in support groups. Senior Care Planning is provided by Care.com.

WORK-LIFE CENTER BENEFITS Backup Child Care & Backup Adult Care Services Backup Child Care Backup Adult Care Child care providers assist when usual child care or school arrangements are disrupted or when a child is mildly ill. Providers can offer companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and medication prompts for you or your adult or aging family members. For faculty, staff, postdocs: Up to 15 combined child care and/or adult care visits annually, at $16 per hour. For graduate students: Up to 10 child care visits annually, at $5 per hour. Backup care is provided by Care.com..

WORK-LIFE CENTER BENEFITS Planning and Paying for College Resources to Help You Services Available at No Cost Plan and pay for your child’s college education  Develop a repayment strategy for your child’s or your own student loans Consultation with: College admissions advisors College financial planning specialists Webinars On-site seminars College Coach is available for faculty, staff and postdocs. Planning and paying for college services are provided by College Coach.

WORK-LIFE CENTER Technology Childcare Centers (TCC) Campus Child Care Centers 263 children: ages 8 weeks – Kindergarten entry The David H. Koch Childcare Center, 219 Vassar Street Eastgate Childcare Center, Buildings E55 and 68 Stata Childcare Center, Building 32 Westgate Cooperative Preschool, Building W85 Lincoln Laboratory Childcare Center, Lexington 111 children: ages 8 weeks – Kindergarten entry Tuition and scholarship information, and application form are available online: All of our centers are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). TCC is managed by Bright Horizons in partnership with the MIT Work-Life Center.

17 Support for Breastfeeding Mothers
WORK-LIFE CENTER Support for Breastfeeding Mothers MIT has been repeatedly recognized by the Massachusetts Breastfeeding Coalition for "improving the health of the Commonwealth through excellence in supporting breastfeeding mothers and babies.” 20 lactation rooms across campus. Breast pumps, refrigerators and microwaves are available at many of the lactation rooms across campus. Check with the location Lactation Room Coordinator for additional information. The Work-Life Center website offers resources to support breastfeeding mothers and their supervisors in finding appropriate accommodations for mothers’ breastfeeding needs on campus.

The Graduate Assistance and Information Network MITGAIN is a free and confidential 24/7 Work-Life service exclusively for MIT graduate students and their families.
