5 The Proctor Caching Server Post a Sign on the Proctor Caching Computer Locating the IP Address on the Computer It is possible that the IP address will change if the server is ever turned off. You will have to change your Pearson settings if this occurs. Configuration can only be entered by the Districtwide Campus Coordinator or Campus Tech. Have the Campus Tech install the Test Nav 8 app on your work computer.

6 Create a TestNav Configuration Your Campus Technologist should be installing the TestNav 8 application on all of your testing computers. Ensure that the proctor caching computer is always turned on during testing and is easily identifiable for someone who may have to come in and complete testing in your place. Test Nav Configurations have to be completed before you create any test sessions. Later, while you are creating your test sessions, you will select the named configuration that you create here to be used for each test session. 7 Create Configuration Step-by-Step 1. From Setup > TestNav Configurations, open the task list and select Create / Edit TestNav Configurations and click Start. 2. Select Create Configurations. Enter the IP addresses of any proctor caching computers that you will use to precache tests.

8 Create Configuration Step-by-Step 3. Click Test Connection to make sure the configuration works. If the connection is not successful: Check that the proctor caching computer is set up properly and running on your network. Check that you have entered the correct IP address and port. The default port is 4480. Verify that the computer you are using to configure TestNav has Java installed and that the Java applet is allowed to run in your browser. (This feature requires the use of a Java applet. The computer from which you perform the action must have Java installed. You must allow the Java applet to run in your browser in order for you to test the configuration.) 4. Click Create.

9 Creating an Online Test Session It is strongly recommended that you create a complete testing plan prior to placing students in sessions online. 11 How to Locate Currently Enrolled Students Click on Operational Reports Step 1 : Select Students & Registrations Step 2 : Click Student Org Enrollment Report Step 3 : Enter the start and end dates of the TELPAS window and then Display.

13 Creating Rating Sessions To create an online test session follow these steps: From Testing > Sessions, click the Select Tasks drop-down and select Create / Edit Test Sessions. Click Start. Click Create Session and enter the required details. When creating a test session, if at least one proctor caching computer is configured, you must select a proctor caching computer. If you set test session dates and times, the system will not use them to limit when sessions can be started. The data is only used to help you with planning. Click Create. Pearson recommends that your session size be limited to 500 or fewer students. After a session is created, a Password box becomes available. This box contains the password that will be included in the student testing ticket and that the student will use to log in to the test (along with a unique User ID). This password helps ensure that students can access only the test assigned to them in this session. 15 Creating Rating Sessions The Session Name should always start with your Campus Name. Create session names that are easily identifiable by other users. Complete all required fields Select Create when you have completed all fields April 1 st is the Dallas ISD last day to enter ratings! Optional Step: You can add students by name or by an entire grade level. (Max Dallas ISD session capacity is 150).

16 Creating Rating Sessions Successfully created sessions will appear here. Students enrolled in your session will appear at the bottom of the web page.

17 Creating Rating Sessions Session details will appear when you select your session. Using your TELPAS planning rosters and LPAC rosters, verify that all students are listed in the session.

18 Adding Individual Students to the Rating Session Step 1 : Click the drop down arrow Step 2 : Click the box next to Add/Remove Students in a Session Step 3 : Type the name of the session and then click Search Step 4 : Click Start

19 Adding Individual Students to the Rating Session You can search by student name or PEIMS ID. The student’s name will appear below. Click the radio to add student to session and then SAVE. To remove or add a student, unclick the radio by the student’s name and then SAVE.

23 Adding Students to a Reading Session To add a registered student to a session type the name in the queue bar. Using your TELPAS planning rosters and LPAC rosters, verify that all students are listed in the session. Click this to get back to the Dashboard.

27 Managing Sessions Type the name of the session here. Click the session you want to manage. You can view session details by clicking on You can edit a session by clicking on Click Download Resources to print student test tickets. It is recommended that you select Detail View – 1 per page to ensure that students receive the accurate test ticket. Students assigned to the test session will appear here.

28 Managing Sessions Here is where you would resume a test of a student that has exited. To manage an individual student, click the radio by the student’s name, select the task, and then press Start.
