Honduras is a democratic republic in Central America. The country is bordered to the west by Guatemala, and also to the south by the Pacific Ocean. The Climate is hot. The water crisis in Honduras has affected the towns and rural villages. For help large population centers have modernized water treatments. They go around distributing water to the people.

The water treatment is poor because of the lack maintenance and the treatment it is given. The rural areas have has basic water systems. Their water is limited though because of it’s treatment. The urban areas on another hand have sewer systems for the waste of water. This place to has poor treatment towards the water. But not as bad as rural areas whose water wasted is limited. Though there was law passed in the year 2003 for people to be able to work and own there own water. This issue is so big that communitied agree to get together and work out the problem for water waste in regional basis.

National, international and non-government provide services to work with the water issues in Honduras. Honduras is the second poorest country in Central America. People estimate that out of five people one does not qualify to have clean water. There is another estimate that 80% of the illness in Honduras is caused by dirty wate. There is a hope that clean water would reduce the illness and diseases. This country has a percentage of 63% of people that are poor. Meaning they are approximately living less then a dollar a day. They can’t afford to buy clean healthy water. Honduras was one of the victims of the hurricane Mitch.

This hurricane destroyed towns and homes to many poor people. This hurricane killed thousands of people. It only left 75% of Honduras with safe drinking water. Though repairs are being done many poor people are forced to drink contaminated water. This caused people to have illness of the water. There are mosquitoes that carry malaria that is also a problem for families’ health. Many people like women and children spend approximately six hours caring water home.

The Philippines is located in the south eastern Asia. The Philippines archipelago is made up of 7,107 islands. The climate is tropical marine. 15% of the families in the Philippines DO NOT have access to safe drinking water and 28% DO NOT have sanitary toilets. In the Capital;Manila, clean water is difficult to obtain and some Filipinoes must pay 5 to 10 more than what a New Yorker would pay.

In the Philippines, the quality of water supply and sanitation suffer from low investment rates. Although water resources become scarce in some regions and seasons, the Philippines as a whole have more than enough surface and groundwater. The main source of pollution is untreated domestic and industrial wastewater. Only 1/3 of Filipino river system are considered suitable for public water supply. Estimated that in 2005 water availability will be marginal is most major cities and in 8 of the 19 major river basins.

Other than severe health concerns, water pollution also leads to problems and since 2004 has sought to introduce sustainable and water resources development management. 74% of water in the Philippines were used for agricultural purposes. 9% is used for another industry, 17% or 4.8% leaving for domestic consumption. The water usuage in the Philippines is divided among the three major groups: the agriculture sector, commerce and industry and domestic.
