2. What are the problems? There are countries in the world that have got serious problems with their water. In some places the water they have is very dirty, so when the people in these countries drink it they get very ill and mostly they die. In some countries they dont even have any water as it is restricted.

3. Diseases carried by unclean water Diseases carried in water are typhoid, cholera, dysentery and diarrhoea. These diseases are killing thousands of people every day because they dont have access to clean water in Third World Countries.

4. These children are gathering water for themselves and their families.

6. Why is the water dirty? The water in these countries is dirty because they only have access to water that is near the surface of the ground. The mud on the surface infects the water with different diseases.

7. Why there is there a lack of water? There is a lack of water because of drought. Drought is when there is no rainfall for a long time and so all the water dries up with heat. Rainfall is controlled by the amount of water vapour that is in the atmosphere.

8. The countries that are affected by drought… The main places affected by drought are: Africa Asia South America and Some parts of North America

9. How to Solve This This problem of dirty water is solved by using a water pump. This means that people can have access to clean water and they dont have to walk miles every day.

10. How Does a Pump Work Pumps use mechanical forces to push the water, either by someone lifting a handle or by someone pushing down on the handle. The water is brought up to the surface and is let out by a tap. Now the people can have safe and clean water.

11. How To Make The Water Safe There are two ways that you can make water safe. You can either boil the water which kills the germs in it. You can also filter the water but this is not as effective.

12. What Can Be Done So if everybody in the world would help, by giving money then the people in these countries can have safe and clean water to drink.
