10 Ocado – An Introduction
Ocado is the world’s largest online supermarket Ocado delivers Morrisons products amongst others They have their own smart-phone app – Ocado on the go There is a simple concept embedded in this slide – all employability providers are desperate for 2 things: A brand that is in any way recognisable within the employer marketplace A facility to offer an integrated route way to employers for client preparation learndirect has the most powerful brand across employability – if you genuinely remove the noise in terms of centre politics for the ASMs, and remove the limitations of ‘location’ or ‘scale’ in terms of message, there should be no reason why any employer shouldn’t’ choose to trust learndirect over other providers. Look at the like of Ingeus and Avanta – the lead on the marketplace through claiming scale and contract advantage – this is universal with learndirect. If the team stop focussing on contract or locality the power of the brand will be huge. The profile of learndirect employability needs to raised considerably, representation has been weak at any meeting I have attended for large scale vacancy mobilisation / market partnerships. This is a prime focus for my remit.
