15 SUCCESSFULLY PREPARING ALL STUDENTS FOR THEIR FUTURES 12033 SE 256 TH STREET, KENT, WA 98030 | WWW.KENT.K12.WA.US 15 Establishing Appropriate Testing Conditions SCs and TAs determine the testing option(s) and environment based on the number of students for each test and estimated time needed for completion. Testing students in classroom-sized groups is preferable to reduce test anxiety for the students and help the TA monitor the test. The test administration must be conducted in a secure environment. Follow your school’s Test Security and Building Plan to maintain a quiet environment, keep in mind that some students will finish before others. If students leave the testing room as soon as they finish, tell them the procedures for leaving so they don’t disrupt others and where to report after they leave. Before releasing students, collect and account for all testing materials provided to students. If students remain in the testing room until the end of the session, they may engage in quiet activities, such as reading a book, after they finish the test. Follow your school’s Test Security and Building Plan for students who need additional time to complete the test, if moving to a new location. EOC TAM, 5-8
