My Saltire Adding Volunteering To get started we need to add your volunteering details. So you can submit hours and achieve a Saltire Award

My Saltire Add volunteering You must provide organisation details of where you are volunteering and the supervisors name. They will contact the organisation ensure the information is correct and you are volunteering with them If you are volunteering internally with AUSA, put down Michelle Higgins as the Contact Supervisor – m.higgins@abdn.ac.uk

Submitting Hours Once the organisations you added have been approved. You will be able to submit hours. Please note if you have chosen the Approach and submit hours and claim the 10 hour and 25 hour certificates, you will need to upgrade to the Ascent for the certificates thereafter (you can do this on the – Your Details tab). You can backdate hours but you can’t go back further than April 2010 as another award was in place prior to this date which is no longer available.

Submitting Hours (Continued) The hours you submit will be shown in a progress bar. Once you reach a milestone of 10, 25, 50, 100, 200 and 500 you will be able to request an award. Just press the claim button. Please note if you are volunteering with AUSA, you will need to complete the attached timesheet and give this to Michelle so when asked she can verify your hours. An electronic copy of the timesheet can be emailed to you if you prefer and when you have completed it, you can email it back to Michelle) The reason for doing this is that you can input online blocks of hours (up to 99) and it only shows the date you input. For the purposes of the certificates, Michelle needs the timesheet to be completed on a daily basis.

Saltire Journal The Saltire Journal will be your own personal space to record Training, New Skills learned and much more.

Saltire Journal Adding an Entry Depending on which section of the Saltire Journal you will be able to write an entry. For Example in the Training section you will be able to record type of training, What you did etc.
