7 TOM TORLAKSON State Superintendent of Public Instruction 7 CALPADS Budget Update October 2010 – Former Governor AS vetoed CDE funding for CALPADS staff citing frustration over costs and the delay in implementation. January 2011 – Current Governor JB wrote, “Future funding decisions for the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS) and the California Longitudinal Teacher Integrated Data Education System (CALTIDES) are pending a review of the program’s objectives, usefulness, longer term implications and compatibility with growing federal requirements.” Interagency Workgroup Meeting – March 2

8 TOM TORLAKSON State Superintendent of Public Instruction 8 CALPADS Implementation All K-12 public school students have statewide student identifiers (SSIDs) All districts report enrollment by SSIDs CDE tracks statewide enrollment, graduates and dropouts by SSIDs All educators have statewide educator identifiers (SEIDs) All districts report teacher data by SEIDs Districts are currently reporting the courses students are taking and the courses teachers are teaching by SSIDs and SEIDs
