What did you like about the Distance Learning experience? ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ I really had a great bunch of students all schools this year. The agriculture class with Levi Cohan is great! Hopefully we'll participate in the class next year. I love the fact that these kids can meet kids they normally wouldn’t while getting the classes. We even had kids passing each other in the hall at BOCES but not meeting until DL class. Interacting with the students and teachers. The technology. Learning by observation, the innovative techniques teachers use to make three schools act as one cohesive group. I enjoyed engaging in conversations with new adults and students. Many new people were introduced, great experiences! Various classes offered and interaction with other schools. The teachers and students enjoying each other

What did you dislike about the Distance Learning experience? ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ A teacher would talk about CRCS students, laugh at them, told her students that CRCS students were failing etc. Sometimes we had problems hearing other schools. All schools times were all different this year - all off by a minute to three. Important to have all participating schools times should be in sync. The difference in period times - and I realize the north country schools are going to be more in sync next year. Also having class several days in a row - when the host school has days off. Sometimes we did not get papers in advance. Copying of 7 or more papers has to be done in the main office. A lack of differentiated instruction in certain classes /engaging lessons. Nothing.

What changes would you offer to improve the DL program? ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ Updated fax machines. To get to meet teachers: a person - students miss that. Offer more classes. Let students come and view the DL to make sure this is a class and a room setting they are comfortable with. Laptops in our room, cordless microphones for teachers, bigger TV screens. I would like to have a week advance notice of the class agenda. I sometimes feel unprepared when I am told the day of assignments or copying papers during class. We have the older equipment, I would like to see us updated. Different places for microphones, everyone on the same bell schedule. Teachers should be required to visit remote sites at least once - preferably more than that.

General Comments ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________ I As always I enjoy being part of the DL classroom. Had a great year in distance learning loved working with all the teachers and the support team. How site teachers need to call on students at other schools as well as their own school. Get them more involved. Stay on task. Return graded material more often so students see what they got wrong. Could use inter-office mail to save wear and tear on fax. For health, the students took it during their lunch and I gave up my lunch for them to get the class so we used privacy a lot to avoid the microphoness on the desk. I am sure rustling lunch bags and crunching noises wouldn’t have been pleasant over the system. Help desk is always on the ball. I had a great experience with DL classes through Glens Falls, Wells, and Warrensburg! Host site teachers made me feel important, needed and a part of their classes. I cant thank these host site teachers enough!
