3 Academic Assessment P Strengths – We have a conducive environment for studying – We stress the importance of putting academics first – We make upperclass and underclass comfortable in the knowledge that they can use each other to study and tutor Weaknesses – This year’s grades with knobs was less than satisfactory – A lot of good ideas that the academic officer wanted to implement never came into being – Those with grades that were low were not put into a mandatory study hall 3

5 Academic Pillar Strategy Ensure that upperclass and underclassmen know their options for studying and academic support Create a list of upperclass with a certain major and pair them with underclassmen of the same major Ensure that at risk cadets receive attention asap Create a mandatory study hall for those with at risk grades 5

6 Military Assessment P Strengths – Bravo does not abuse the 4 th class system – We rely on the chain of command – Females are respected when put in a position of authority Weaknesses – Parades; not many are motivated or inclined to do well at them – Sgts become lazy if the first sgt and PLs do not stay on top of them – Some cadets have a tendency to get lazy with guard duty 6

8 Military Pillar Strategy It’s important to stay on your first sgt and PLs to ensure they stay on top of their sgts so they do their jobs The drillmaster needs to be stricter with cadets during parade The XO needs to give swift punishment to those who refuse to do their guard duty Do not take care of problems directly, but use the chain of command 8

9 Moral-Ethical Assessment P Strengths – Both males and females get along well within the company – We’ve had no assault cases – No HVs Weaknesses – There are instances where certain individuals say inappropriate jokes/comments – Not enough emphasis is put on when to leave knobs alone – HA members should be more involved 9

11 Moral-Ethical Pillar Strategy There should be more honor training with each class Have more upperclass meetings with HA Have every member of cadre stress the importance of cadre-only involvement 11

12 Physical Effectiveness Assessment P Strengths – There is not a lot of difficulty with accountability – There are a lot of athletes in Bravo which can help with intramurals – Bravo has a history of giving help and support to those who have difficulty with PT Weaknesses – Difficult to keep up morale during morning PT sessions – Army cadets complain about having more PT than everyone else – Juniors and sophomores tend to completely drop the ball for morning PT and the responsibility to lead gets left up to first sgt and CO 12

14 Physical Effectiveness Pillar Strategy Increase morale and provide positive incentives for PT Find leaders amongst the different classes and appoint them as “motivators” to encourage their classmates for PT Have your athletic officer come up with PT plans that you can have your PL’s rotate through (or your PLSGTs) 14

15 Company Commander/TAC Comments You need to use the chain of command Rank holders need to know exactly what they are responsible for Use your senior privates Make sure you don’t micromanage, but verify that others are doing what they are supposed to 15
