2 WASHING MACHINE A washing machine is a machine to wash laundry, such as clothing and sheets. Washing entails immersing, dipping, rubbing, or scrubbing of clothes in water usually accompanied by detergent, or bleach. The simplest machines may simply agitate clothes in water while switched on BUT automatic machines may fill, empty, wash, spin, and heat in a cycle.

3 Features and Specifications
Capacity Type of Loading Wash methods Wash time Auto stop and Stop indication by LED and BUZZER Backup memory Dry tap protection Quick start operation Load sensor Temperature sensor

4 TYPES OF WASHING MACHINE
Semiautomatic : Some operations are to b performed manually. Fully Automatic : All operations can be programmed. Front Loading : Clothes are loaded by Front door. Top Loading : Clothes are loaded from top opening.

5 Semi Automatic & Top Loading Washing machine
Fully Automatic & Top Loading Washing Machine

6 Principle of operation
Operation of Washing Machine is split in THREE cycles. Wash cycle : - Here clothes are washed in water with Detergent. Rinse cycle : - Here DIRT which is seperater from clothes is drained. Dry cycle : - Here clothes are made to be DRIED.

7 Wash Cycle Earlier washing machines simply carried out a washing action when loaded with clothes and soap, filled with hot water, and started. Now users put clothes into the machine, select a suitable program via a switch, start the machine, and come back to remove clean and slightly damp clothes at the end of the cycle.

8 WASH CYCLE

9 Rinse Cycle Washing machines perform several rinses after the main wash to remove most of the detergent.  Thus most of water is removed from the washing tub.

10 Dry Cycle Higher spin speeds remove more water, leading to faster drying.  If a heated clothes-drier is used after the wash and spin, energy use is reduced if more water has been removed from clothes.

11 Configuration of Washing Machiine
Washing Tub : Plastic, Fiber, metal is used for Tub. Inlet and Outlet(drain) valves for water Water Level Sensor and Controller Temperature Sensor : To control hot water coming inside. Agitator : It moves clothes in Tub. Motor : Used to move agitator.

13 Fully Automatic Washing Machine
In Fully Automatic Washing Machine all Operations are controlled by 8085 or 68H11 microcontroller. Fully automatic takes care of every thing including taking water, rinsing and drying of clothes. Whereas in semi automatic you need to do it physically.

14 Fully Automatic Washing Machine

15 Washing Machine control
Power on the device. Load clothes and detergent. Open inlet valve and close outlet valve. Start wash motor after water level is ok. When time is over Start rinse cycle. Start motor at rinse speed. After Rinse is done Start Drying Cycle. After time is over, LED id turned on and it BUZZERS for 5 seconds.

17 Functions of Automatic Washing Machine
It controls motor speed for wash and rinse operation. It checks level and temperature of water. It operates the machine for specific time that user has programmed. The preprogrammed timing for each cycle, for different types of clothes are stored in memory. It gives beep after washing is over.
