Helped shape the first ‘school of psychology’ and one of the first psychological labratories.

6 Functionalism What is it?
Focus not on structure of consciousness but the purpose behind behaviours. Who are key players? William James and John Dewy

Introduced a wide variety of research techniques like physiological measures, mental tests and questionnaires.

8 Psychoanalysis What is it?
Study of the subconscious and conscious and how the two interact with each other. Key Player? Key Player Sigmund Freud

It opened the doors for research psychology. Boosted neuroscience and brain functions.

10 Humanism What is it? Focused on individual potential and self- actualization. Key Player: Abraham Maslow
