Enterprise M3 is a business-led Local Enterprise Partnership that is working to secure economic growth at sub-national level We bring together leaders from the business, public and not-for-profit sectors and provide the vision, knowledge and strategic leadership needed to drive private sector growth Our aim is to create the foundations on which our businesses can flourish

4 What does Enterprise M3 want to achieve? The Enterprise M3 Economy in 2020 GVA per capita 25% above the national average through increased productivity and a focus on high value sectors Jobs Increase the employment rate from 77.4% to 80%, creating 52,000 new jobs Business Birth & Survival Adding 1,400 businesses annually to the area

8 Our Skills Investment Skills Capital Projects European Social Fund Growth Hub (Skills for Business)

9 EU Structural Funds £43m for 2014-2021. Focus on enterprise, innovation, skills/employment, rural, social inclusion and low carbon Requires 50:50 match funding, use of co-financing organisations European Structural & Investment Fund (ESIF) strategy sets out broad priorities for investment Funding provided to applicants following fair and open competitions for funds. Procurement in a number of ‘calls’ throughout the programme. Governed by Managing Authority and Local Sub-Committee (European Management Group)

10 Enterprise M3 European Structural & Investment Funds Value of ESF funds £17.4m for 2014-2020 programme. Activities to include: Employer led employability, basic skills and vocational pathways for the unemployed, focus on STEM and Growth/Step-up towns Social Enterprise & Inclusion – skills for start-up and projects focussed on social inclusion Employer led vocational pathways towards Higher Skills - skills development for existing workers / targeted support for employer uptake of training Targeted careers IAG for the employed and unemployed to support STEM
