Barge, State School Superintendent “Making Education Work for All Georgians” www.gadoe.org Agricultural Education Credentials for Students Career Development Events (CDE’s) are industry recognized and supported, follow national standards, and are the best measure for student technical skill attainment. There is no cost for these exams. A list of all students from your school earning a credential during the 2011- 2012 school year is being compiled and will be sent to you (CTAE Director) in May 2012 by the Region Agricultural Education Director. The actual credential (document) will be given to your agricultural education teacher for delivery to the student. 4/8/20127

Example: If 2011 membership was 75 and 2012 membership was 130, chapter would receive 3 jackets. Forms for proposed revisions are available in the online Awards Bulletin. – All proposed revisions will be reviewed in mid-May – All adopted changes to guidelines will be announced at Summer Teachers Conference in July. 4/8/201213

Chalk drawing from Friday nights keynote will be in Alumni silent auction on Friday Thursday, April 26 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. Harvest for America Food Drive. Barge, State School Superintendent “Making Education Work for All Georgians” www.gadoe.org John Deere Gator Raffle Thank you, to all teachers and chapters who sold Gator raffle tickets for the Blue & Gold Gala. A total of 74 chapters sold tickets, raising $17,460. Selling the most tickets and winner of the $1,500 cash prize - Early County. The winner of the $500 State Convention scholarship was Turner County. 5th Annual Blue & Gold Gala March 16th at the St. Regis Hotel in Buckhead. Over 520 people attended the Gala, the highest attendance ever. The Foundation raised approximately $70,000 at the Gala. FFA Foundation Update

Students must write a thank-you note to their sponsor and mail a copy of the note, along with their award claim form, to the Foundation. Checks will then be mailed to the students. National FFA Convention Travel Scholarships Please do not return these to the Foundation until after August 1. National Convention travel scholarships must be signed by an FFA advisor. 4/8/201218
