2 For All: Marsha’s standard office hours for April will be: Tuesdays from 9 to 3 Fridays from 9 to 5:00 Sandy’s standard office hours for April will be: Fridays from 10 to 5:00 Accounts Hours: office hours for April will be : Fridays from 12:00-3:00 Office/Library Access without staff available: Wednesdays from 12:00-3:00

3 For All Grades Kindergarten – 12th Math Facts Contests – optional but of great value Addition – 100 addition problems (0’s – 10’s) 4 minutes On paper this year Multiplication – 169 multiplication problems (0’s – 12’s) 5 minutes On paper this year Can be done on Tuesdays and Fridays during office hours. Tuesdays are usually quieter. Student takes the exam, & we will grade & let you know.

4 Grades 9, 10, 11, 12 & some in grades 6-8 Reminder for Spring Graduating Seniors: Please call this week to make an appointment for your FINAL credits check. If you do not call this week to schedule an appointment, we will begin assigning appointments, so call and get your choice of times. Grades 9-11 & Middle Schoolers doing credit work have until July 31st to complete the year’s work. You can schedule your final credits check as well. Just call. All appointments will be with Mrs. Hancock on Fridays. Find several dates and suggest them when you contact us.

5 For all grades: Spring Testing Annual Testing Has Begun! Ends in mid-May You should have two appointments for testing for grades 3-11, and one appointment for grades K-2nd. Email us if you’ve forgotten your dates. Test results for grades 3-11 will include Lexile scores ! Test results will be available about two weeks after your student’s testing, IF the family account is up to date. For privacy’s sake, we do not put results in folders. You must ask a staff person for yours. Call ahead if you want to be certain they are ready for your children.

6 King Center Ticket Holders Reminder: Those with tickets to see the Vocal Trash which will be at the King Center on May 5 should remember to use those tickets. Start time is 10:30. We recommend you arrive by 10:00 at the latest in order to have time for restroom break, find seats, etc. You do not meet as a group outside. Just go inside, find your seat, and you will see that the rest of the NCS students who are attending are seated next/near you. You should have already picked up your tickets from us.

7 For those in Thursday classes The last Thursday Class is April 28th. Next year’s Thursday Classes will have a lower number of students allowed. Registration is first come, first listed. Some new classes. Some repeated at a different level. We are looking for several parents to assist us: Short term 4-6-8 week teachers Long term teachers Volunteers: Regular Rotating

8 Grades 5 and up Community Service! Gateway Road Clean-up Saturday, May 14, from 9:30 – 10:30 Meet at the north end of Gateway Road, where Gateway meets NASA Blvd. There’s a parking lot there shared by law offices and doctors. Bring a hat, sunscreen, closed toe shoes, and your own water. Melbourne will provide pick up sticks and safety vests. I need a coordinator for this as my doctor says I cannot walk that far yet. (Sign people in, distribute vests, sticks, bags – all provided by Melbourne city, give instructions and keep them on task. Need someone who will be there to take pictures. Email us as soon as possible to let us know you can come. Ages 12 years and up

9 For grades K-12 April – Presidential Physical Fitness Actual Competition 10-11:30 Friday More details will be emailed Call the office if you want to be included & you have not emailed yet. Jonathan Howse, winning marathon winner, will be coordinating this event.

11 For all grades – important May dates For grades K– 12th: Friday night, May 20th, 7pm Mandatory activity Location: Nomad Community Church on Cypress Avenue in Melbourne, near US 1 Kindergarten Graduation {rehearsal earlier in the day; we will email the time of the rehearsal} Fifth Grade Promotion – no rehearsal Eighth Grade Promotion – no rehearsal Senior High Spring Graduation {rehearsal earlier in the day; we will email the time of the rehearsal} Awards Ceremony

12 2016-2017 School Year Information on the 2016-2017 school year is available in the school office. Email from Monte Hancock regarding rates Registration papers for school in office by Friday Classes announced by May 1 st. {waiting on the teachers.....} If you want to teach a class, then email or Facebook private message me on my own page. Handout in office wall rack for prospective teachers All teachers undergo a national background check done by the FBI. If you want a specific class taught by somebody else, email me or Facebook private message me on my own page as soon as possible. Please answer the survey that was emailed.

13 Tell somebody about us and... Tell a new family about New Covenant School If they register AND tell us you were the one who convinced them to join us.... You will receive $25/student that they enrolled..... After they have successfully been involved in the school (attended mandatory events) and turned in their first two months of monthly reports. It doesn’t work if you tell us they enrolled because of you.

14 Yearbook We need more casual pictures taken at school events. Don’t edit them for color, size, etc. Send to the school’s email address. The yearbook will arrive in July. We have an arrangement with the yearbook company so that we can submit ours late in order to capture May events.

15 Office - The office will be closed from Tuesday, May 31st through Friday, June 3rd in order for the staff to plan the next school year and to put the school year 2015- 2016 to bed, as much as possible.

16 Contests for 2016-2017 Many of the contests begin June 1st. You could start and maybe finish some contests during the summer. Bible Memory Bible Reading Making Memories Reading Contest Math Facts Art Contests Art Appreciation Contest My Home Town Video Contest

17 Summer Classes For sure: Summer Reading Challenge/Making Memories Work – proctored by Sandy Hancock Thursdays from 12 to 4 pm Grades 3-12, and must be a free reader Free! Logic – taught by Monte Hancock For grades 6-12 and adults This is a high school level class and requires homework. One-half credit in logic towards graduation Thursdays from 2 to 4 pm Waiting to hear who wants other classes and who wants to teach these other summer classes
