2  Everyone has aspirations in life and specific levels they would like to reach.  Part of the planning process actually entails you developing specific career goals and mapping out a course on how to best reach them.

3  We offer skills training that lead to good careers, advancement, and continuing education  Hands-on, applied technology education includes access to the latest technology  Faculty with relevant work experience teach classes  College Credit and Industry Licensure  Small classes ensure personal attention

4  A Career and Technical Center offering career preparation and lifelong learning opportunities  MTC prepares students with the academic and technical knowledge needed to succeed in higher education and careers. We are committed to excellence in providing the best education for our students  We serve as one of Loudoun County Public Schools elective program options. Available to all 15 High Schools

5  Monroe Currently Offers 26 Programs Our programs offer industry level certifications and licensure.  12 Dual Enrollment Programs (NOVA) Dual Enrollment allows qualified high school students to earn college credit while still in high school.  9 STEM Designated Programs These courses are designed as a part of the Loudoun Governor’s Career and Technical STEM Academy. They receive increased academic integration within instructional delivery of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).

11 Eighteen of the country’s top twenty fastest growing occupations require the technology and skills taught in career and technical education (CTE) programs.

12  Cosmetology I & II  Nail Design

13  Computer and Digital Animation I & II  Advanced Networking  Computer Systems Technology

14  Administration of Justice I & II  Firefighter

15  Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning I & II  Welding I & II

16  Computer Integrated Engineering & Design (CIED)

17  Auto Collision Repair Technology I & II  Auto Servicing Technology I & II

18 Among high school graduates entering the workforce, those with a career and technical education (CTE) background earn 21% more than those without this advantage

19  Students come to MTC every other day on either A day or B day.  First year programs are scheduled on B day.  Second year programs are scheduled on A day.  Students arrive by 9:25 am via bus from their home school.  Lunch is served in the cafeteria from 11-1.  Dismissal back to home school at 3:10 pm provided by LCPS transportation.

20  Applications are made available in January.  They can be found in 2 places; 1. Home High School Counseling Office 2. MTC Website (www.lcps.org/mtc)  Applications are turned into the home high school Counselor in March.  Acceptance Notifications are sent to counselors and students in May. (Must be in at least 10 th grade to apply or at least 9 th grade for Health and Medical Science only)

21  3 Elective Credits per program  Dual enrolled courses offer a.5 weighting and NOVA College credit  Industry credentials available and recognized in the workplace include: (A+, N+, CISCO, ProStart, Cosmetology Board of Licensing, Welding, HVAC, NCCER, ASE Recognition, OSHA Safety, Board of Nursing, Workplace Readiness).

22  1 st year or more of a Foreign Language  Algebra 1 or higher This will allow you to have flexibility in your schedule of classes at Monroe and your home high school and still receive an Advanced Studies Diploma
