Science at SJF is bucking the trend at Core, Additional and Separates in terms of outcomes and progress. 13. Notes on ISAs Pupils research a given topic. Pupils write up research notes. Pupils undertake 1 st examination paper. Pupils conduct a practical. Pupils produce a table of results and graph. Pupils undertake a 2 nd examination paper. Pupils are guided throughout the process, the examinations take place under examination conditions and pupils need to follow the advice given to them by their teachers.

14. Core Science Pupils have undertaken their 1 st ISA in class. With a 2 nd to follow as required. Additional Science There will be up to 2 ISAs to be conducted in class. Separate Sciences Pupils will be taken off timetable for a day for each ISA in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

15. It is up to pupils to utilise: VLE – lesson plans, resources, worksheets, revision material, past papers and mark schemes (open access no requirement to login) Kerboodle – on-line textbook, additional worksheets, answers and revision material. (pupils have been issued with username and passwords as per ebulletins) Username: Initial followed by surname (e.g. rtannersmith) Password: Initial followed by surname again (you will be prompted to change this once logged on). Centre no: qjq1 (QJQ1 –in lower case)

16. Revision guides and workbooks remain available from the Science prep room at a suitable discount. Over to you now. There is a direct link between the effort put in and the results achieved, there is no short cut. Mock exams 1 st -9 th December. You need to treat these as the real deal as they will give you an idea of what you/don’t know and how to answer questions.
