Stray away from cliché and use word associations to describe feelings, sights, etc. Think of an object, person, or scene in nature that you could create a Haiku using metaphor/simile. This is an Haiku poem It will have 17 syllable count with 3 lines only.

Remember “Slam Poetry” is meant to be performed, not just read: EXTRA 10 POINTS to your test grade if you perform it for the class OR video tape yourself performing it and turn it in with your portfolio.
