The Breton strategy

Breton FabMaster In Europe & Italy from 2006 (rel 1.1) In USA from 2007 (rel 1.2) By Breton FABMASTER: an innovative strategy

The challenge Jennifer,Sales John, Production Tom,Logistics Frances, Project design Production Logistics

Empowered Users Productivity tools to be applied in the production processes of Breton machines and plants

Insightful Needs : Increase productivity. Automatically generate in the office work programs for the various machines based on the stonework to produce. Monitor constantly work orders in progress. Identify each single workpiece. Warehouse management of raw materials and semi-finished products Optimise slabs to be cut. Breton FabMaster

What companies need A MES (Manufacturing Execution System) software solution which can integrate and manage even complex work orders that : is complete with a number of exhaustive basic functions; is innovative which incorporates the most advanced technological solutions and strategies ensuring the initial investment in future, always updated with the most advanced technology; offers the possibility of “staircasing” allowing this solution to grow and develop alongside the business and company requirements; can be personalised / customised to satisfy individual company needs and specific markets; can be easily integrated with other system applications to ensure efficiency and data exchange between systems; is easy to use almost immediately by operators even with a minimum of training; uses all the communications channels and keeps trace of all activity; ensures maximum data security and system continuity; with a limited TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and a positive ROI (Return Of Investment) over a short period of time deriving from the deployment of MES (data migration, personalised, installation, training, start-up) offering satisfying results both in terms of operation and cost effectiveness in using MES; as well as covering requirements in terms of functions and collaboration, it comes with a number of analysis tools (Business Intelligence) which provide in real time reports and analysis based on the data in the various company systems;

It works as your normally work Works as your business A flexible solution which can be easily adapted to meet your business requirements. Personalised user interface: each user can access the data and information they require for their jobs Works as does the best technology Breton FabMaster 1.3 Normal interface type Windows Integrated with Microsoft office so to work using a familiar system environment, User friendly minimum training required. Data security Reporting with SQL Server Reporting Services for simple and personalised analysis Standard functions and personalised features Easy to install and personalise Integrates easily with other system applications

Main functions: PROJECT DESIGN Designs and displays 3D images using coloured photographs of the material selected (slab or sample) natural or engineered stone countertops. Attributes to each geometrical shape measurements, profile template and other machining processes of the countertop (pockets, holes, grooves etc.), machining processes and additional details (e.g. splash-backs, lamination etc.). Generates quotations allowing you to allocate a cost to both the materials and the individual machining processes. Sends drawings to Fab Shop to be processed by the CAM for running specific work orders. Creates and manages material libraries divided into type and / or supplier supported by technical – sales information and coloured photographs for each type of material. Imports files DXF.

Main functions: PRODUCTION Controls and groups the various orders creating internal work orders (orders which include the same type of material or different orders for the same customer or orders for the same delivery date etc..). Accesses the warehouse inventory to control slabs and / or recuperated pieces in stock so as to identify the materials to be used in production. Elaborates the production processes which each machine or production unit is to perform; defines all production work stations to be implemented in production to produce the final workpiece. Allocates a code number to each workpiece to produce based on the various production processes to perform. Sends the work programs to the Breton CNC machines after having read the barcode on the slab to process. Ensures a simple interface with all the various production work stations to monitor work orders in progress. Even non-automatic machines can be integrated into this system, by installing specific “ControlPoints”. Mark as waste material a slab to be processed adding the information to the container “pieces to be re-processed ”. Controls the work order is completed and closed providing production information and data which can be accessed by the company’s system.

Main functions: LOGISTICS Manages the raw materials warehouse (slabs) utilising photographs of each single slab. Immediate traceability of each single slab using barcode technology. When selecting the material to be put into production information is displayed including the code numbers for the slabs to be picked and their location in the warehouse or type requested such as material and thickness, the estimated square metreage as well as the production unit to be used to process the slabs. Confirmation of material picking and inventory update accordingly and system prompts regarding low stock. Picking date / time and operator code are memorised and stored by the system. Manages inventory of semi-finished products. Manages inventory of workpieces to be re- used.
