Prior to this it was independent and called the Park Plaza Hotel, which opened in 1936. Examples include Yelp.ca, tripadvisor.com, and virtualtourist.com. It has also won many awards, including the Prestigious Four Star Award by 2011 Forbes Travel Guide. Park Hyatt was chosen as Canada’s Leading Hotel by the 2009 World Travel Awards.

Located on Avenue Road in the heart of Yorkville, the Park Hyatt is mainly directed towards the luxurious and rich crowd; however anyone who wants to can stay there. It has many tourist guests as well, and hosts events, weddings and banquets. It has also hosted many literary authors. It is also close to lots of entertainment and shopping. Close by is the Royal Ontario Museum, the Bata Shoe Museum, Queen’s Park, University Of Toronto, and all the shops and restaurants in Yorkville and on Bloor.

There are many features to the Park Hyatt. Included are four different dining spots. First is the Anona Restaurant, which combines international diversity and sophistication. Then there is Morton’s, The Steakhouse. There is also Kosher Dining available as well as The Roof Lounge, which is a nice, downtown bar. Also located close are many restaurants and bars such as McDonalds, Subway, Fox & Fiddle, and many others. Of course, there is always in-room dining as well. Also, in the hotel, is a fitness centre and a spa called the Stillwater Spa, which is considered one of Toronto’s best spas. It has won awards like “#3 Best Hotel Spa In Continental US & Canada, Travel + Leisure.”

Generally more business and busier times come during the Summer. Park Hyatt does many events including Weddings and are usually at maximum occupancy during June-August. Winter and late fall are when things start to slow down.
