It is considered to be the most important and challenging component of teacher preparation programs. It is a sixteen week “Professional Internship.” Student Teaching

Assessment (Formative and Summative) Professional Responsibilities Behavior Management Professional Dispositions Student Teaching

4 Your student teaching experience requires a large time commitment from you. Full Time Internship. Monday through Friday. 7-8 hours at the school during the day. Evening and weekends will be spent planning and preparing for future instruction. You will be required to report the same time your Mentor teacher is required to report. It tests application of skills.  edTPA is a summative assessment of the teaching practice that is in alignment of the Ohio teaching standards.  It is a collection of artifacts and commentaries.  It is based on a learning segment of 3-5 days.  Assessed by the State of Ohio using 15 rubrics.

8  You will receive additional information in future Student Teaching meetings.  You will receive edTPA support through your Colloquium class.

We also take into consideration where Teacher Candidates have completed their field work. We work to ensure that each Teacher Candidate receives experience in diverse settings within their College of Education experiences.
