2  A line is a path traced by a moving point.  It is a mental concept. In the 3-D world, a line is a linear form, where length is dominant over width.  Lines can be used to indicate order, to direct the eye, or to separate groups of objects.

4  These lines are created by the arrangement of the dots and short lines.

5  Here, lines are implied by the edges of the shadows and the building.

6  A jagged line could be seen as aggressive.  A curved line could be seen as graceful.
