Bauer Media Group The styles that Bauer uses in their music magazines do not usually resemble each other as they are often acquired by the company via buying out smaller companies. However, they do have a common colour scheme of red, white and black which could indicate a sense of maturity with a modern feel or could instead indicate a stereotypical rebellious youth.

Their target audience are middle to upper class women in general. Most of the magazines they sell are around the theme lifestyle and they don’t appear to sell other types of products. The common style between their music magazines, NME and Uncut, is the colour scheme red, white black and sometimes yellow (weekly). NME’s genre is rock while Uncut is Americana, hence why obscurer artists make the main story.

Anthem Publishing do not appear to produce media outside of magazines, though outside of music they also focus on food. Interestingly, both of these themes are the strongest within their portfolio of magazines. They have also been known for Travel and Property and Football. Their portfolio of music magazines include: Music Tech, Pop Classic, Guitar & Bass and Vintage Rock.

The style of their music magazines are very similar. The colour scheme is white font with the occasional yellow. The entire layout of the magazine is eye-catching, thanks to the expertly chosen mise-en-scene and modern, but professional fonts. This gives off a mature tone but the language that is used appears quite informal, indicating that the target audience may be of young adult age. Anthem Publishing website screen-shot
