PROCESS WRITING  Means learning how to write working through several steps

WHY DO WE NEED A WRITING PROCESS  It helps writers organize their thoughts  It helps writers avoid frustration  It helps writers use their time productively and efficiently

STAGES OF THE WRITING  There are several stages to the writing process. Each stage is essential.  Prewriting  Drafting  Revising  Editing & Proofreading  Publishing & Presenting

STEP 1 Determine your Audience & Purpose Explore your topic and brainstorm. Make Plan

DETERMINE YOUR AUDIENCE Your AUDIENCE is composed of those who will read your writing. Ask Yourself Who are my readers? What do my readers know about my topic? What do my readers need to know about my topic? How do my readers feel about my topic?

PREWRITING Is the process of freely exploring ideas, choosing a topic, and gathering and organizing details before you write

DRAFTING Is a way to get your ideas down on paper in roughly the format you intend.

REVISING Gives you the opportunity to correct any errors and improve your writing’s form and content.

EDITING & PROOFREADING Lets you polish your writing. Fixing errors in grammar, spelling, and mechanics.

PUBLISHING & PRESENTING Allows you to share your writing.
