Inclusive words are used by speech writers because they are designed to make the reader feel as one with the whole group. Inclusive words can also make you feel guilty if you are not participating with everyone else. Mandela uses words such as ‘we’, ‘all of us united’ and ‘together’ repeated throughout so as to try to get the African people to feel like it’s their duty to respond to what he is saying.
