2. Attention-grabber! Tell a story, ask the audience to imagine, give some startling facts/statistics, be creative. Try to make this several sentences.
Background information: what are you talking about?
Thesis statement: What is the message of your speech? What main points will you discuss in your body?

3. Start each body paragraph with a transition and a topic sentence that gives the main point of that paragraph.
Include evidence from your research as well as any evidence you can bring in yourself.
For each piece of evidence, give credit to the source and follow it with elaboration.
You should have three or more body paragraphs. Remember: this speech is going to be 3-5 minutes long.

Sum up the main ideas you want your listeners to remember.
Leave your reader with something to think about: a quotation, a question, a challenge for them to act.
