Leadership Presentation By: Jesse Van Gampelaere

About Me To start off I am a very busy person, between school work and soccer everyday I have to have good time management. Also, I work hard for everything in my life and I am very close with my family. I think that I play a special role in leadership now and will in the future too.

What is Leadership? A quote that I think represents the definition of leadership is, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” (John Quincy Adams). Being a leader is something that more need to start accepting into their life.

Who prepared me for leadership The people in my life that have prepared me for leadership is my mom and dad. They have taught me that how to do the right things in life rather than taking the easy route. They have inspired me to become the person I am today by the qualities they posses. Also they have taught me how to stand up for myself. Everything that they have taught me is the way that they have lived their life too.

Important Qualities Honesty and trustworthy Inspiring Courageous Forward-looking Confident Fair-minded Sense of humor and imaginative

Me as a leader The leadership position I see myself in today is a leader to my soccer teammates. I am captain of the soccer team and it is my responsibility to get the team focused and on track. I keep the girls motivated and focused by setting the example.

Me as a leader Another position I see myself in as a leader today is a leader to my younger sisters. I have two younger sisters and they look up to me. I set good examples for them like a good leader should do. I teach them to be confident in themselves and always be honest. I help them in situations when they need it and I look to be an inspiring big sister.

Preparation for future leadership Ways that I think I could prepare to be a better leader in the future is to be more forward looking. I should set goals for myself now so I can organized to be successful with them later in life.

My career and leadership My future career is to be a Elementary Education Teacher or a Special Education Teacher. Leadership is important in this career because I will be leading students to success. It is my job to teach them about life lessons, to be a positive person, and most important to become a leader themselves.

Strengths Honest and trustworthy Inspiring Organized Inspiring Passion Dedication Focused

Benefits to my strengths I will benefit from the strengths I have for my future career because it will make it easier for me to help the students. It should come easy to me because of the qualities I already posses. Most kids learn by example and if I am already setting the right and good examples I will be benefiting. My job really shouldn’t feel like a job.

Weakness The weakness that I posses is bossiness. There are times when I want to be in complete control and do things my way. This is a problem for leadership because you have to be open for new ideas or opportunies.

How to overcome my weakness I think that I can overcome my weakness by being more open-minded. If I try to be more open-minded I will be hearing our different opportunities that could over come my bossiness. I just have to remember to not step in and listen to what other options might be and give them a try sometimes.

Leadership Quotes “Successful leaders see the opportunities in every difficulty rather than the difficulty in every opportunity.” (Reed Markham) “A leader should demonstrate his thoughts and opinions through his actions, not through his words.” (Jack Weatherford) “The key to successful leadership today is influence, not authority.” (Kenneth Blanchard)

Lasting Impression I think that I am a good leader today but in the future I can tell that I am going to be an even better one. I posses great qualities now that will help me for my future career. I can’t wait for the future because I can’t wait to help out the students I teach and get them to be leaders for their future.
